Nine months ago the Holy Spirit visited Virgin Mary, and she got pregnant (Isaiah 7:14). In the manger, Mary gave birth to the hope, light, and savior of the world. We are all aware that for our sake, Mary conceived of Jesus in a manger because had he been conceived of in the most comfortable of rooms, the enemy would have devoured the savior of the world in no time (2 Corinthians 8:9). As His name, Emmanuel, God with us in our nature, in our pain and sorrows, in our career and work, in our grave despair, and now with us, or rather we with Him, in resurrection, ascension, triumph, and everything forever.
The birth of Christ is the light because it brings peace between man and God, man and man, and man and himself. This is a time of conflict resolution, burying of hatchets, making peace with siblings, friends, family, neighbors, etc. This is the core motive of our celebration today. Take that bold step of being at peace with others and your life will forever be a blessing.
The very first Christmas was celebrated in Bethlehem and it was in a pen (the scripture rightly points). Very amazingly miserable! Just imagine the stench that the savior of the world was treated to on his arrival into this sinful world. Even that did not limit him from achieving His divine purpose on earth. Where is yours being celebrated today? That actually is not my problem, it is actually how proud you are of that place, and the closeness it renders you to your purpose.
Before tomorrow comes, please try and sing, at least, a carol unto the savior. Jesus, you are welcome.
