“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of Heaven, having the everlasting Gospel to preach unto them that dwell on earth, and to every nation, kindred, and tongue, and people. Saying with a loud voice, fear God and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made Heaven and earth, and the sea and the fountains of water”
It is with no tinge of doubt accepted that we are living in the last days, and a question I diligently seek answer to is, “How do we fear God and give glory to Him, so that we can earn His mercy when the day of judgment comes?”. To answer this question is to give you strength to jump over the huddles on your way this week.
Glorifying God means giving evidence of the character of God in our lives, and in this way make Him known to those around us. This is what Jesus says in Matthew 16:24, “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.” and John 14:15, “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
1 John 2:3-6, says, “And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” This to a very reasonable extent says that to fear God is to obey Him completely.
Fear God and give Him glory, and your life will never be the same in this life and the one to come. God bless you all.
