(2 Timothy 1:6)
For the reason of your sincere faith, you are hereby encouraged to fan into flames the gifts of God which you received through the laying on you of hands. Our word of this week is taken from a message Apostle Paul sent to a young believer by name Timothy.
The gift(s) you have already received, no doubt, but without fanning into flames is/ are as good as nothing. As we can all attest that the heat of a fire is much (maximum) felt only when it is fanned, but when left by itself to manifest its heat, it dies out in a very short while.
The next verse of our study text says, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” This week’s message is just a reminder. It is to remind that whatever gift(s) received from the Lord, it is only by fanning it into flames that one can stand unashamed everywhere, even in prison like Paul, and testify about our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, and also suffer for the sake of the Gospel.
You are hereby encouraged to be faithful. Have a great week.
