And Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, “God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. Why am I so honoured, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what He said.” (Reference: Luke 1:42-45)

The Bible makes us understand that a wise man leaves inheritance for his children’s children, whereas a fool his craving and how to gratify them. A wise man always and at all times considers and holds a priority his generation and the legacy he can leave them. For it took only one man, Abraham, to consider his descendants (upon God’s promise) to render us all blessed with Christ. King David also thought of his people, and Elohim thought of you and I.

God has great plans for each and every one of us and our generations, however, it is our exclusive duty to search it out, believe and uphold it. Bible says, “It is the glory of God to conceal things, and the glory of kings to search it out.” It was only Mary who heard what the messenger of the Lord spoke yet she believed! I believe that the prophecy of a Saviour being born by a virgin was known to almost every Israelite in those times: so the angel appearing to Mary was not the first time she ever heard it. Remember, His birth was prophesied by many. I can imagine some virgins of those days make fun of it, others doubting it, others wishing it could be them – Oh such an honour! Others expectant of it and others, like Mary, praying that the Lord would find them worthy to bear the Saviour of the world in their womb. Let them that want their generation blessed start working for them in prayer. It is only prayer that can create their future. So as we labour in pain to store up treasures for them, let us sow seeds of prayer into their lives, their days even before they are born. Let us win them for Christ while in our bellies. Let us proclaim words of great blessing upon them according to God’s precious Spirit. Our God is faithful. David declared ‘let all that is within me bless the Lord’. He wasn’t just talking of his internal organs but also all the generations unborn- locked up in his loins.

You have to do your part for your generations and they shall surely call you blessed. Some people leave their families with generational curses but may you leave yours with the blessings of Elohim. Heed the Lord’s instructions now and all generations of yours shall be called blessed. Amen!
