“…God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him” (II Peter 1:3 NLT).
God has given us all things pertaining to life and to godliness. We can receive these things as we come to know Him. It manifests in our lives by our knowledge of Him. As a man learns to know God better and better, he grows thereby (Col 1:10). Many ask this question; how do we mature? Paul answers this question in Colossians 1:10 that it is by learning to know God better and better.
In Christ, growth is by our knowledge of Him. For as long as a son remains a child, he is no different from a slave, though he be heir. Unless he matures, he does not really enjoy ‘sonship’. As we get to know God better, we become aware of more of the things he has made available to us, and we understand how to receive and walk in them in order to make our lives better.
Men of God are always discovering new dimensions and mysteries of God not by any other means but by increasing their knowledge of God. Let us do same, for we are all members of one body expected to grow to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
