IMMANUEL TO:

A very long time ago, prophets prophesied His birth, virgins prepared for the Holy Spirit’s visitation, and the whole world anticipated His triumphant entry into it. Finally, the Lord God found a lowly Hebrew servant, engaged to Joseph, a David blood, worthy to bear this man to fulfil scripture. And the angel told Mary, “He will be called Immanuel which means God with us.” – Matthew 1:22. Hence the title ‘Immanuel to:’ meaning ‘God with us to:’
In no time Immanuel was born in a manger in the town of Jerusalem. Immanuel walked the surface of this wicked world to, among many others:
• Wipe clean our slate of sin – Matthew 1:21
Man have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. As a result, Jesus came to wipe these sins of man and bring unto him the glory of God. “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
• Make peace between God and man – Colossians 1:20
Once our sins of are wiped, we stand the chance of being at peace with the almighty God. “And through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in Heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.”
• Take away our infirmities – Matthew 8:17
Once our sins have been paid for and we are at peace with Him, we begin to enjoy the fruits of being in Him. “This was to fulfil what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
• Spread the Good News – Mark 1:38
Jesus also came to spread the good tidings He has come with. He came all the way from Heave to tell men that He is the only way to the father in Heaven. “Jesus replied, ‘let us go to somewhere else – to the nearby villages – so that I can preach there also. That is the reason I came.’”
In summary, when we acknowledge our sins with contrition, we stand the chance of wiping them off through Christ. With our sins wiped, we are at peace with God Himself and then our diseases and infirmities are taken away. Once this is done, the Good News of Christ that has saved us is meant for us to spread as Christ came to do.
